Day 1 – Arrival in Milan

Arrival at Milan airport. Meeting with the local tour leader and transfer by private coach to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.


Day 2 – Milan

Full day guided sightseeing tour of the city. In the morning visit to the Romanesque St. Ambrose Basilica, Santa Maria delle Grazie Church with the famous Last Supper fresco by Leonardo da Vinci and Sforza Castle. On the way you’ll go through Cadorna Square, crossed by Oldenburg’s modern sculpture “Needle, Thread and Knot”, a sort of tribute to the city of fashion. In the afternoon visit to the Gothic Cathedral, take a walk through the Vittorio Emanuele Gallery and reach the Scala Opera House. Return to the hotel for dinner, overnight stay.


Day 3 – Milan / Padua / Venice

After breakfast transfer to Padua and guided visit to the Romanesque St. Anthony Basilica and Scrovegni Chapel frescoed by Giotto, a masterpiece in the history of Italian painting. Drive on to Venice, accommodation, dinner and overnight stay.


Day 4 – Venice

Enjoy a full day in the romantic city built on more than 150 canals linked by picturesque footbridges. Half day guided tour including: St. Mark’s Basilica built to house the remains of the Saint in XI century in Byzantine style; the gothic Doge’s Palace, which was the ducal residence as well as the seat of the political institutions of the Republic of Venice; the Bridge of Sighs, built to connect the Doge’s Palace to the prisons. The day schedule is free to explore this fascinating city on our own and/or for a Gondola ride. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.


Day 5 – Venice / Florence

After breakfast transfer to Florence, popularly known as the “Cradle of the Italian Renaissance”. Arrival and hotel accommodation. The guided tour starts with a walk to visit the most important churches of Florence; the medieval Church of Orsanmichele; the Church of Santa Croce, with Giotto’s frescoes and tombs  of important the famous people like Michelangelo, Galileo Galilei and Machiavelli’s; Santa Maria Novella Church, a gothic basilica with vivid frescoes by Masaccio. Moreover you’ll visit Santa Maria del Fiore Basilica, the cathedral church of Florence, The Baptistery and Giotto’s Campanile. Dinner and overnight stay.


Day 6 – Florence

Full day guided tour of the city. In the morning visit to the Uffizi Gallery, and arrival in Piazza della Signoria where the impressive XIV century Palazzo Vecchio, town hall of Florence, is still preeminent with is crenellated tower. Walk with a view to the medieval Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge), over the Arno River, noted for still having shops built along it, as was once common. In the afternoon visit to the Accademia Gallery where is housed Michelangelo’s David, one of the most famous sculpture in the world. After dinner, sightseeing tour to appreciate an astonishing view of the city from Michelangelo Square. Overnight stay.


Day 7 – Florence/Siena/Assisi

After breakfast departure from Florence to Siena, famous for its medieval cityscape, cuisine and art. Visit to the Cathedral, a masterpiece of Italian Romanesque-Gothic architecture, with frescoes, sculptures and various works by Sienese masters. Walk on the shell-shaped Piazza del Campo, the town square, which houses the Palazzo Pubblico and the Torre del Mangia, famous for hosting the Palio, the annual horse race. Arrival in Assisi, accommodation, dinner and overnight stay.


Day 8 – Assisi / Rome

In the morning complete tour of Assisi, mystical birthplace of St. Francis. Visit Santa Maria degli Angeli Basilica, site of the Porziuncola, the tiny church in the woods where St. Francis began his ministry and where St. Clare began her religious life. Proceed to the Convent of San Damiano where the miracle of the Eucharist of 1211 took place, Santa Chiara Basilica and San Francesco Basilica, entirely frescoed by late medieval painters from the Roman and Tuscan schools. Tranfer to Rome, accommodation, dinner and overnight stay.


Day 9 – Rome

Full day guided tour of Rome. In the morning visit to Vaticano: St. Peter Basilica, Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel, with its awesome frescoes painted by Michelangelo. In the afternoon the sightseeing includes St. Paul Outside the Walls and the Catacombs of St. Callixtus. Dinner in the picturesque Trastevere area and overnight stay.


Day 10 – Rome

In the morning, guided sightseeing of the Ancient Rome Empire includes visits to the Roman Imperial Forum, the Coliseum, the Palatine, St. Mary Major Basilica, St. John Lateran. After lunch the tour continues with the exploration of the Renaissance section of the city: Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona with the famous Bernini’s fountains and Campo de’ Fiori. Time for shopping. Dinner in hotel and overnight stay.


Day 11 -Departure

Breakfast and transfer to the airport for departure.
